James Bragg is the Wyoming County Department of Planning & Development Senior Planner.

Previously, for ten years, James was the Planner II and Historic Preservation Specialist for the City of Niagara Falls Office of Planning & Environmental Services.  James was responsible for helping craft policies involving land use regulation and urban design. Most notably, James worked in the generation of the Niagara Waterfront Opportunity Area Master Plan to redevelop 1,900 acres of contaminated industrial parcels, removal of the Robert Mosses Parkway that separated the City of Niagara Falls from the Niagara Gorge, revitalization of the South End tourist district that included the construction of 7 hotels and Empire State Development's Downtown Revitalization Initiative Award for NF's Bridge District.

Before his service with Niagara Falls, James was a United States Small Business Administration law clerk. During that time, James was heavily involved with joint state and federal reconstruction efforts in New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In New Orleans, James worked alongside Congress of New Urbanism planners. As a result of his experience with CNU professionals, he returned to WNY to obtain a master's in urban planning from University at Buffalo in 2007 and became a city planner.

James is a native of Buffalo, NY. He obtained his BA from SUNY-Oswego, Masters in Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo, and Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi "Ole Miss" School of Law.
